Also known as Puerto Vallarta International Airport and located 7.5 km (4.5 miles) north of downtown Puerto Vallarta, it serves a good part of the state of Jalisco and is one of the busiest in Mexico for being one of the tourist spots par excellence of the country. It operates with domestic flights as well as regular and seasonal international destinations in the United States, Canada, Panama and Europe. It has currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, VIP rooms and free Wi-Fi access. It has restaurants, fast food stores, coffee shops and bars before and after the security check, as well as duty-free shops, souvenir shops, jewelry, accessories, newspapers and tobacco. The public service passes every 30 minutes through the airport to different destinations and there is a counter to hire 24-hour taxi services.
